At Your Service [v0.1 Alpha] [pennyless-mosquito]

In this city, freedom has a price, and it’s due every Sunday. By law, anyone who can’t pay rent is taken off the street: sent back to their village, or signed onto a contract and owned by whoever buys it.
Yrsa is 21. She grew up in a small village in the far north, where every grown woman carries the old tattoo patterns on her face and arms. She arrives in the city with one bag and $212. Those tattoos mark her as poor and uneducated, and every door closes on her but one: the couch of Danny, a boy she knew in school, and a night job mopping floors at The Long Haul, a pub for truck drivers by the highway.
The pay is bad, the uniform belonged to the girl before her, and Mick, the owner, looks at her the way the drivers do. Rent is due every Sunday. Then the rent goes up. Then the bills come in. Then Mick has an offer, in the gents, after closing. Danny is kind, at first, until he starts to see what her money can do for him.
This is a linear story. You don’t steer it to a happy ending; you live through it one day and one night at a time.
