You may remember he gave Polygene an offer they couldn’t refuse to begin developing technology to enable an ambitious aerospace project for the government. Firebreak picks up a few years later, and the story is rooted firmly in the culmination of those possibilities alluded to at the end of Chasing Sunsets.
While there are plenty of nods to our previous game in Firebreak, it will stand on its own. If we’ve done our job, you will not have to have played our first game to be immersed in this one.

While we’ve been working hard on the Chasing Sunsets Remaster, we also took some of the Firebreak 0.1 feedback to heart and made a number of tweaks and quality-of-life improvements.
New codex that unlocks as the game progresses that links from game of peer entry
Fixed the Echotext alerts that kept Angel silent during the recruiting run
Preferences > Text > Dialogue Quotes can now be enabled/disabled to taste
Preferences > Text > Narration can now remove extra narrative and let the art talk
Eleven new technical animations added that explain key technology concepts

Numerous typos, a few continuity errors cleaned up

-Fixed an issue where having “Named Saves” in Preferences selected and then saving a game with an empty name caused a crash.

-After spotting Amie bathing nude, a subsequent line of dialogue felt out of place if the player opted to avert his eyes. That line now flows properly with that world state.

-Added a 1080P option at a hugely reduced file size. (See below)

-New binaries leave music unpackaged so players can listen to any of the songs used in-game without decompiling the binary.

Chapter 1 Release

Developer Notes:

This game’s plot was teased in the final two chapters of Chasing Sunsets, and will revolve around technology gone awry. With many returning tertiary characters from Chasing Sunsets now playing central roles, this will be an opportunity for players to get more insight into what motivates them and makes them tick.

Further, as the plot unfolds, the player will find himself faced with a number of choices that will impact how the game ends and who he ends it with.

Like Chasing Sunsets, Firebreak will have multiple endings determined by the player’s choices and behavior. Unlike Chasing Sunsets, Firebreak will have a cold open that ramps up relatively quickly, and thrusts the player into an environment he is unprepared for on any level. Through his wits, empathy (or lack thereof), and a little help from some friends, he just might make it through intact.
