Parasite in City: Nightwalkers is an unofficial, completely non-commercial fan project created as a new chapter in the legacy of Parasite in City.
Built in Unity 2022 while preserving the original game’s sprites, sounds, atmosphere, and identity, Nightwalkers expands on that foundation with new enemies, two additional weapons, redesigned and more intuitive controls, and a range of new gameplay systems and encounters.
This is a short, focused experience by design—not an attempt to turn Parasite in City into something it was never meant to be.
The goal is simply to recapture what made the original memorable, give longtime fans a reason to step back into its world, and show what another chapter could look like.
Short and sweet, familiar but new, Nightwalkers is meant to be a new beginning.

v1.04
September 2nd, 2026
Grab escapes redesigned:Grabbed players now escape by holding the displayed key until the bar fills. Progress pauses when released and resumes when held again. There is no time limit, progress decay, wrong-input penalty, or damage for failing to escape.
WASD controls use Spacebar by default.
Arrow Key controls use Z by default.
Rebinding is supported.
Dialogue now freezes gameplay: Enemies, projectiles, hazards, and encounter progression are paused while dialogue is active, then resume normally afterward.
Flying bug dives are more predictable: Flying bugs now attack beside the player instead of directly on top of them, making their approach easier to read and giving you a clearer direction to evade.
Stage 1 melee tutorial added: The opening encounter now displays a melee prompt shortly after gameplay begins. It completes when a Zombie Grunt is killed using melee.
Main Menu music volume control added: You can now adjust menu music volume directly from the Main Menu alongside the mute control. The setting is shared with Options and persists between sessions.
v1.03
September 1, 2026
  • Significant balance adjustments across Stage 1 and Stage 1B, including more ammunition and fewer enemies. Balance is still ongoing and may continue to change based on majority player feedback.
  • Lightning Flash can now be toggled ON or OFF from the Accessibility tab in the Options menu.
  • Added two display scaling modes: Fit Screen for better use of higher-resolution displays, and Pixel Perfect for a crisper original pixel presentation, particularly around 1080p and below.
  • Updated the Game Over screen and Control Scheme background presentation.
v1.02
August 30, 2026
  • Fixed startup and loading black-screen issues affecting some older-generation computers, including improved video compatibility and more reliable transitions into Stage 1.
  • Fixed QTEs disappearing after pausing and unpausing.
  • Adjusted Zombie Grunt and Zombie Dog QTE positioning so prompts appear in better positions during grabs.
  • Fixed the THROW prompt appearing too far left and partially out of bounds; it now aligns correctly and sits above the player’s head.
  • Fixed the RELOAD prompt’s positioning and presentation; it now sits above the player’s head and uses the same black backdrop as THROW.
v1.01 — Hotfix
August 29, 2026
  • Game Over audio now becomes muffled and distant instead of cutting to complete silence.
  • Fixed the player using the shotgun animation after escaping a grab while holding the pistol.
  • Added laptop and smaller-screen support, preventing the game from being cut off on resolutions such as 1366×768 and 1280×720.
v1.0 — Initial Release
August 28, 2026

Nightwalkers is intentionally challenging, but in a different way from the original Parasite in City. The smoother controls give you more freedom to focus on movement, positioning, resource management, and threats coming from multiple directions, which allows encounters to put more pressure on the player. I understand that some sections may feel frustrating right now, especially while there are still no guides, walkthroughs, or community strategies to lean on, but overcoming that challenge is also part of what makes completing the game feel rewarding. I am in no way trying to compete with Pixel Factory or match the sheer amount of content in the original, which had three stages and many animations. My goal is simply to give both longtime and new fans a chance to experience Parasite in City in a way that feels familiar while still offering something new. Every larger project has to begin somewhere, and Nightwalkers is that first step.
