Chapter 3 Rework

I’m genuinely incredibly excited about this one. I don’t think I’ve ever been this excited to release an update before.

So much has changed compared to the original Chapter III that, at this point, it’s basically an entirely new chapter. New scenes, rewritten dialogue, new choices, more animations, new renders, and a lot more polish across the board.

Now that everything is finally finished on the rendering side, I can also share the final numbers:

~8,000 lines of script

Further improvements to the main UI, including new animations and a smoother overall look

I actually wanted to squeeze in one additional OogleFans scene as well, but unfortunately I just didn’t have enough time to finish it properly.

The good news is that it will still be included in the Steam demo, which is coming later this month.

What’s probably craziest to me is that development on the Chapter III Rework only started on July 22nd.

Putting together an update of this size in under two months has been… intense. And yes, once again, my sleep schedule and health has paid the price. xD

But seeing everything come together has made it worth it, and I’m extremely happy with how this chapter turned out.

Once this update is released, there’s only one major rework left: Chapter IV.

After that, I’ll finally be moving back to new content and working on the finale of Chapter VII.

The animator got back to me a few days ago, and I was able to implement 15 new animations into the final scene with Alice. I also made several improvements to the flow of that scene based on your feedback, so even returning players should notice a much smoother experience.

Hi everyone! I’m AbyssGames. This is the first project I’ve ever created. It has been a fun experience learning the ins and outs of the RenPy engine. This is a passion project and will be developed at my own pace. As you see, I use AI art for my game, however I hope I was able to differentiate it enough from the others on the site. I also spent quite a bit of time on correcting the images, making sure they are as best they can be and are as consistent as they can be.
