Tainted Philter is a visual novel game with corruption being the main theme.
You begin as a shy guy with self-confidence problems that moves to a city he doesn’t know because he finds a place to live for free that will help him survive his financial problems due to have been left alone with no family or friends to go to.
In your first day of school in this new place you receive an offer that seems too good to be true. An encounter with an otherworldly woman who shows you that magic is a real thing and tasks you with a quest about corruption to help with her research. To aid you in this task she gives you access to a large variety of potions with various magical effects and she also offers you to improve your current personality that is not fit for the job. After receiving these gifts from her, you eventually finds out that you got some extra perks that she doesn’t know about and decide to keep them a secret from her just in case.
Follow the story as you find creative ways to achieve this mysterious woman’s task.

NETORARE will not be in the game ever, NETORI is not planned but might make it in the future. The focus of the story is the MC

Rebecca received a slight facial rework. (Basically, some subtle makeup adjustments.)

This one is a little different in how its animations are structured:

Personally, I’m counting those as variations of their respective loops rather than entirely separate animations, since the differences aren’t significant enough for me to consider them brand-new animations.

Additional Content

Added a new animation for Missa’s Breast Expansion Test, replacing the previous sequence of CGs from v0.1.3. This was the winning scene from the Sequence-to-Animation Poll.
Since the game doesn’t currently have a gallery system (don’t worry, there are plans for one in the future!), if you’ve already progressed past this section, you may need to start a new game to see the new animation.
Added a new Mirror event for the MC where he can obtain a skill that was originally supposed to become available following the events of v0.1.3… and that I completely forgot to make and add.
If you’re using a save from v0.1.3 and were already caught up with all the available content, you should be able to obtain the skill in v0.1.4 simply by interacting with the mirror in the MC’s room at night.

Bug Fixes

Fixed various grammar errors and instances of dialogue being assigned to the wrong character.
Fixed some CGs appearing in the wrong place or in the wrong order.

Gallery System
The game now has a Gallery System!

Every animated scene currently available in the game can now be replayed through the new gallery.

Scenes are unlocked after you watch them for the first time in-game.

If you’ve played previous versions of the game, the gallery should also recognize the scenes you’ve already watched and have them unlocked automatically.

Hopefully.

Now, to be honest, the only reason I implemented the Gallery System this early was because of a bug I was having trouble fixing.

The only workaround I could find at first was to disable the game’s rollback feature.

Since that meant you wouldn’t be able to roll back to previous parts of animated scenes anymore, I decided to start working on the Gallery System as a way to compensate for that.

Originally, I had plans to introduce the Gallery System later on and somehow tie its implementation into the game’s story.

Eventually, I managed to find what I believe is a proper fix for the bug, which allowed me to re-enable rollback.

But by that point, the Gallery System was already finished, so…

Might as well include it!

I still want to find a way to tie the gallery into the story in the future, though.

Quality of Life Changes
Lilith’s Wine Event – Schedule Changes

You can now bring wine to Lilith on any weekday, as long as you visit the rooftop in the evening.

To be honest, I don’t even know why I originally decided to restrict this event to Fridays. There’s no actual story-related reason for that restriction.

So now, you can simply visit her on whichever day works for you!

The way you obtain the wine remains unchanged, though, since there’s a story-related reason why you can only find the money to buy it on Saturday mornings in the kitchen.

However, the next change should make dealing with that restriction much easier!

Skip to the Weekend / Skip to Monday

I’ve added two new time-skipping options to make progressing through the week more convenient.

You can access them the same way you normally go to sleep: by interacting with the pillow in the MC’s room.

Skip to the Weekend: Available on weekdays. Skips directly to Saturday morning.
Skip to Monday: Available on weekends. Skips directly to Monday morning.

This should make it much easier to reach specific days without having to manually skip through every single time period.

This update introduces a new “system”, where I will finally start slowly introducing more potions into the game.

New Camera System for Animations:

A new way to displaying animated scenes has been implemented, replacing the previous system.

Why? I felt the old system was too intrusive, as it displayed a menu in the center of the screen every time a new animation started.

I hope this new system feels smoother and more enjoyable.

New menu button (Quality of Life):

To improve some QOL , I added a new bed icon that is always visible while navigating the game. It allows you to go directly to your room and easily access the sleep funcion.

You can now attend classes:

A new button will appear at noon in your classroom, allowing you to attend classes.

Hello everyone! This game’s first version is really an introduction to the game. There is not much content besides a few animated scenes. I wanted to introduce the initial characters that made it into the game and for people to have a gist of the direction of the game to get reactions, that way I can get motivated to spend more of my spare time into making more content if people are interested (if not, I’m still going to keep making content, this is kind of a passion project to me). There is a lot of content genre planned for the future. What I’m looking for? I’m looking to make a ‘fantastical’ type of game, going slowly away from vanilla stuff. I want to make stuff that’s difficult or even impossible to find in real life, put characters into weird and improbable situations, make characters with exaggerated personalities/bodies, etc. I hope you have fun and enjoy playing the game as it evolves.
